Dear Media Colleague,

Thank you for visiting the Jack Corbett, Mariner Website.

You are invited to savor in a once-in-a-lifetime discovery--a 100-year-old masterpiece that is being published for the first time.

Here is the true and compelling story of the relationship between one of America’s foremost financiers and the old Irish seaman who changed is life.

Take a moment to return to the Home Page and click on
EXCERPTS FROM THE TEXT for three samples of A.S. Hatch’s extraordinary literary gifts.

Whenever a memoir of youth is published, the inevitable question arises: whatever became of the author? In the case of A. S. Hatch, plenty became of him.

Elsewhere on this Website you will find Hatch’s obituary from The New York Times, a brief history of his mercurial business career by the son of his longtime partner, and an Afterword that gives a detailed account of his vast work as a humanitarian and advocate of the homeless and down-and-out sailors.

I have included all the illustrations from the book on this Website. However, you will find three of them repeated in this section in high-resolution format so you can download and use them for your review.

If you see another illustration you would like to use, e-mail me and I will have it scanned in high-res format and e-mail it to you.
You will be asked to fill out a brief form with your name, affiliation, address and e-mail address so I can have the book sent to you.

Please mail, fax or e-mail a copy of your review to the address above.

Thank you again.

Sincerely,
Denny Hatch
